Hello, I am glad to take part in the ‘English Challenge’ because it is a travelling in England and in the World of English language for me. I did all tasks with a big interest! I liked the tasks about nicknames of the cities and countries because I like their cultures. I don’t like Physics, but the Physics Classes Challenge seems to me very useful. I like to have Geography and Music taught in English at my school. Because in the 1st cause pupils will speak English much better, they will speak fluently about different geographical themes such as weather, different countries, cities, landscape, nature and etc. In the 2d cause it will be very amazing to learn and sing English songs because I am fond of listening English songs. In the school programme I would include the subject where we would make a dramatized show taught in English. On the lesson we would play a performance in English, learn English poems, read English books of famous authors. I find Arts and English, Literature and English the most easily integrated classes because it is the highest part of art and many people interested in it. In the 2d part of ‘English Challenge’ I liked the Literature Class Challenge very much. I like to read books and I was so happy when I have heard my favorite books. It is ‘Romeo and Juliet’ of William Shakespeare and ‘ Harry Potter’ of J. K. Rowling. PE Challenge was hard for me because one word can make an adjective with two or three another words. It had own mean. But I think if the task is hard it is more educative and useful. In my opinion the task about early bird was fun. The author spoke unusually and impressively. During completing the assignments I was very interested in all tasks. There was a sadness about tasks that I have done. I would like to take a part in a challenge like this with big pleasure again! Hello, It was very interesting to take part in "English Challenge", it gave me a chance to discover more facts about England and knew a lot of wonderful things! Most of all I liked the 3d part of the task. It was interesting to write the story about The Tower of London. And I think it would be great, if we could have some literature lessons in English. We could discuss British writers, read the books, write compositions in English and discuss some interesting problems, related with British literature. But I don't like Chemistry and Physics in English. It was hard for me, because Russian concepts in this subjects are differ from English. Well, I would include history and literature in the school programme, because in my opinion, it is very important for people, who wants to know English perfectly and it could be very useful for them. Well, Music and English and Art and English classes are the most easily integrated, because it will be easily to learn the English language, it's pronunciation and some facts about art. But Biology, Geography and Maths were interesting either. With it's help I learnt some new words of plants and found out some interesting about geography. But what does mean "English Challenge"?This word has many values, but in my opinion it means difficult, but interesting and useful task. So I would like to take part in another challenge, it will be great and very useful for me! I think, the most creative tasks, the most interesting to do it! In conclusion I'd like to say that the funniest task was about the music, the easiest about literature, the hard one was Physics, and all the rest were useful and exciting. Hello, It was very interesting to take part in "English Challenge». It gave me a chance to check my knowledge and learn something new about England. Most of all I liked the 2d part of the task. It was interesting because I like reading. I was glad when I have heard my favorite book. It is ‘Harry Potter’ of J. K. Rowling. After the competition I wanted to read some books in their original language. I don’t like Physics Challenge. I think it was boring and uninteresting may be because I don’t like Physics. I would like to have Literature and History in English at my school. Because we could improve the language skills. We could read the books, write compositions in English, discuss interesting historical persons and look at the important historical events from the other side. Most of all parts I like the 1st part, because it's very interesting idea - to make a tasks of different subjects in English. But I like the 2nd and the 3rd parts too - the 2nd part was amazing, funny and the 3rd part was very unusual. Yes, I want to have some school subjects taught in English, as a History, Geography, Russian, maybe Arts, Biology and Informatics, because this subjects are interesting for me and it will be interesting, we can learn something new knowledges. But to get involved in English it's fine because we can learn the history of the country in which there were not, to get acquainted with the fate of great people, learn about the traditions and festivals, miracle dostopremichatelnostyah. I am lucky to participate in such a contest. It is so exciting! I`d like to be taught some school subjects in English. I dream about being a doctor. So studying Medicine abroad would be cool! In my opinion English and Biology are integrated much. As I have mentioned before I want to be helpful for my countrymen to be healthy and the knowledge of both these subjects is very related and important for me as a doctor in my near future. It is my first time of participation in English contest. So, it helped me much to expand my outlook and vocabulary in English. " Challenge" - is like being curious, brave and determined. The easy task task in this contest was to match the names of the plants. I think there were no boring tasks at all, all ofthem were challenging! The difficult one was the History of Great Britain because we have few hours of English a week, so we are not taught the History of English - speaking countries. It sounds sad, but... While completing the assignments I felt inspired, because I had to seek for the information on the Internet. I think I got wiser. Hello! At first I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of this contest - they gave me an excellent opportunity to test their knowledge in English. I always take part in various competitions. When I was appointed monitor of the class, I try to bring more people into competitions and projects. I believe that if a student have a lot of competitive awards, they give him a chance to collect a large portfolio. I have a lot of victories in the essay contest like "The British Bulldog". This contest attracted me because it set divided into blocks of subjects and are creative in nature. I met them with a big pleasure. For me the English language means a lot. Firstly, I often travel abroad, and there I have to use English. If you participate in exchange program , the English language will help you. Second, I want to go to medical school, and at this summer I will go to work as a nurse in the hospital.In college I have to learn the Latin language, which is similar to English, but in recent years of study I may have practical training abroad. English will help me to get a good education and job. In my opinion, this contest calls you to a duel or a trial. But I think that jobs in the competition is not very complicated.Some tasks were very funny, for example, a video about a crow. Intonation of the narrator's "killed"me. A task of the signals was quite unusual - I was confused when I saw the blue light with yellow and pink dots. I also liked the task about the Tower - I had a few ideas how to express dreams and desires of this magnificent monument. I think that the contest "The English call" no flaws or defects. Only it would be better if the task about the Tower you can perform in a presentation Power Point. I have extensive experience in creating such presentations, and I would be able to give free rein to my fantasies. Once again I thank the organizers for a wonderful competition and attention wich provided by my work.

Hello! I am very happy to take part in this olympiad. I think that the first part is grammatic rules, but it's cool to do tasks about history, culture and many different things. The second part is the best! And now I want to tell you about my mind about English in this part. I like to learn English. It is very beatiful and interesting language. You know, I like British culture: history, traditions, kino and music. My favorite actor is Englishman. I like music of English singers. I want to have taught in English some subjects, as Biology and Chemistry, because they are my favorites subjects and they are connected with English. Probably, you understand that I want to be a doctor. I like to take part in different olimpiad, and this challenge is the best in my life. I hope in next year I will see new parts of your olimpiad.

Especially I liked to match vegetables and fruit with their flowers and the nicknames with the cities. It was quite unexpected task. Also I was impressed by the story about “The Giving Tree”. It’s sad, deep, kind and wise cartoon. It made me think about my life, my parents, and my friends. I took part in many contests and Olympiads in English (it helps me to improve my skills, vocabulary and to know something new). But this “Challenge” was the most interesting. There were Geography, History, Chemistry classes, so I think that several subjects in our school should be taught in English. I consider that we should combine Literature, Arts and Informatics with English. If we read British and American literature in English language we’ll have a huge vocabulary, develop our outlook and knowledge. Thereby we’ll know much more about English culture, character and traditions. If Arts will be thought in English, we’ll be able to communicate on different topics and discover more facts about England. We’ll be educated, moral persons and we’ll know English perfectly. I think Information science requires the knowledge of English language, because a lot of computer programs are written on this language. So English is important in Informatics. In the conclusion I’ll say that this contest gave me a chance to check my knowledge, to know much more about one wonderful sight – The Tower of London, and discover a lot of new interesting facts!! Hello to everybody! I'm glad that I have an opportunity to take part in this "English Challenge". All the tasks were very interesting for me. To tell the truth, sometimes they were rather difficult. I hope I managed to do them all successfully. English is my favourite subject at school. Of course I would like to have more English classes a week. I would like to study English and American literature in the orirginal. I am sure that the best way to learn the country is to learn it's literature and history. Also I think it would be interesting to integrate Russian and English in order to compare these two languages, to compare some grammar rules and some words. Hello everyone! Thank you very much for giving me an opportunity to take part in «English Challenge». It was very interesting, exciting and, of course, useful. I knew a lot of information about Tower, its history and architecture. I took part in different competitions in literature, Russian, geography, history, I was impressed very much by English Challenge. I know the reason: they were all in my mother tongue. But I realized that it is more interesting to study school subjects in English. It has a lot of advantages. We improve our knowledge in subjects (like biology, chemistry and etc) and we deep into English-speaking countries atmosphere. So I wish I had some subjects in English, for example, literature. It would be fun and exciting to learn it this way. But anyway I suppose the most easily integrated classes are English and Informatics, because all programs are written in English, so this language is very important to Informatics. And most of all that I’d like to learn together are Art and English. I always try to find some information in the internet, books and magazines about art. Can you imagine how much it would be great to learn art at school in English? That’s why I adore this contest «English Challenge». It’s a possibility to feel myself in usual English school, when you need to remember all terms, expressions, formulas in English. To some extent this is a challenge. This word means for me doing something that you made up your mind to do with success. To be honest the idea to make up the assignments such way that Russian students could turn into English ones is really creative and amazing as well as all exercises. It was quite unusual and gorgeous at the same time to attend an English school. I suppose all participants including me got an incredible experience. Another advantage of taking part in “English Challenge” is the opportunity to check not only knowledge of English language, but also in different spheres like math, history, music etc. Besides developing and improving skills of working online, doing distance tasks is very important nowadays, at the time of the constant technical progress when getting a well-paid position is impossible without computer experience. I can tell all parts were manageable. The first one was straightforward, in fact. Although others called for imagination and creativity. Actually I'm not very good at botany therefore the nature class was challenging for me. But I really liked the listening to audio books. I was a great fan of the fairytales such as “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and “Winnie-the-Pooh” at the early age. In addition I found the videos of Shel Silverstein amusing and the video about traffic lights gave me a food for thought:) And, surely, creative writing about the Tower of London was a culmination. I can’t remember such kind of writing I’ve ever done, so it was my first experience of narrating on behalf of The Tower. In this task everything was up to us: we had to make up features of the character, habits, occupation and so on and so forth. To conclude I’d like to say that combination of English and other subjects is vital and really helpful for students who want to connect their lives with English. Thanks again!

Hello! First of all, I’d like to thank organizers of this contest for their fascinating and unusual exercises where we needed to show our personality and creativity. Besides, it was wonderful opportunity to use English not only on English lessons but also on Literature, Maths, History, and Geography and even on Chemistry and Physics classes. And I suppose some of them can be easily combined with English, for example, Russian & English because learning another language helps deeply understand your own language. Furthermore, informatics can’t be taught without English especially programming and creating WEB-pages with all those tags.
Unlike other Olympiads and contests where I participated million times this project was unique due to the fact I had to be constructive particularly the last part about pretending myself Tower of London. Writing this story I’ve learned plenty of facts about its history, architecture and exciting and earth-shattering points. However, the most memorable part was poem about the traffic lights. This exercise made me feel really confused but in general I enjoyed doing it. But one part was quite challenging for me. It was nature class. But nobody is guilty it’s just my personal opinion. I don’t fancy biology and all the stuff like that. Although this exercise was a little boring basically this contest was really incredible and useful.
It seemed to be like a real English school with its classes. All in all, it was magnificent possibility to feel from inside that atmosphere and get unique experience filling these assignments. So thanks for you for all these tasks that, in addition, could help me to improve my skills and knowledge. Best wishes, Anna

It was very fascinating project, because the tasks were very different and unusual. I have never imagined that I'm Tower of London before. It was really funny. I like very much the 2 part of this contest. Ok, to tell the true, the song about signals really surprised me. "But what do you do When the light turns blue With orange and lavender spots? " It was very unusual question! And song about the giving tree was sad and it made think about life.
I would include English Literature. I think it would be very interesting and useful for me because I like reading and maybe I would discover other books. English and music was more easly class for me because I know some things about music. English and Geography was very interesting, fascinating and sometimes funny. This project helped me to increase my skills.

I think that making some school subjects in English isn't a really fine idea, because not all pupils know English perfectly well. Firstly, we should know it excellent. And after that we can start to study Maths or Music in English. In my opinion, it will be wonderful if we have such subjects as History of the Great Britain, English literature and so on in British. People can't learn a language without getting knowledge of the history and the culture of a country which landuage they are studying!
And ,of course, I would like to thank the organizers of this competition! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I look forward to the next contest very much!
Hello, English is very important for me and if I have more school subjects taught in this language, it will be excellent opportunity to practise and improve my knowledge. Learning Literature and Arts in English can help us to increase our word stock. And that's why I want to include them in the school programme. This contest was very exciting and innovative. There were diffrent kinds of excersises in variety of difficulty levels. As for me I could value my experience in English. Second part seemed to me more interesting than others because listening extracts and watching videos were amazing possibility to hear native-speakers. Ильина Анастасия 9 «В» Лицей №49 Калининград Hello! It would be great if we had foreign languages, for example Spanish, Italian and French, in English. English grammar is simple and clear. That’s really great. You can describe any action you want. Tense bond in Russian is very fragile, meaning of action can be changed by changing an only prefix and there are only 3 tenses to describe everything. That’s why it was really difficult to understand English tenses for the first time, it seemed like nonsense. I learn Italian and sometimes my teacher tries to explain me Italian tenses by comparing them with English that helps me very much. I think learning languages by explaining them in English is much effective then trying to explain them in Russian. I think Music and English are the most easily integrated. Yes, I’ve already participated, and I like taking part in contests and Olympiads in English that is the great way to show your knowledge, individuality and that’s a good a chance to take and develop loads of skills, like analyzing, quick thinking, quick typing in English and etc. For me, “challenge” means showing all skills you have, trying to do your best and developing your mind. Every assignment was interesting but there some I found a bit hard to do, they are Language class, History class and the task about English proverb. Literature class was the greatest. It was unusual, exciting and funny. I really enjoyed listening to extracts from books. Honesty, it wasn’t absolutely boring, because some assignment needs creativity and deep thinking. I got great experience, it’s getting and development different skills, like I wrote higher. I’d like such competitions be a bit smaller and a bit more difficult. Everything was awesome. It was really great pleasure for me to take part on “English Challenge”, I spent my time useful. Thanks!

Hello everybody! I'd like to express my gratitude to the organizers of this contest. This competition was very unusual, unique, creative and funny. It was a pleasure for me to take part in it. I got a wonderful experience of using English in other subjects, improved my skills and just enjoyed doing so different tasks. I liked the most the second part, especially listening different fragments from the books. I think it's the best exercise.
About subjects taught in English. As for me it is a good idea, but not as required courses, just like extra courses. If I were a school head, I'd include Music and Informatics electives taughting in English in school programme. In my opinion, they are the best to combine. Nowadays informatics is very important and useful science, because people use computers, programming and other different activities related with it practically in all scopes of activities. Also English language is an international and all programming languages are written in English. So it will be very useful and actual to combine English and Informatics. As for music, I think everybody a bit listen to the English songs and it will be easy and interesting to integrate English and Music. Мне по-настоящему приятно, ведь участникам конкурса на Английском языке было предложено поделиться с организаторами своим мнением, высказать свои предложения. Такое не часто встретишь. Я считаю, что это говорит о том, что создателям этого конкурса не безразлично мнение каждого ученика в отдельности. За это вам отдельное спасибо, ведь вы даёте нам высказаться. Да здравствует Свобода Слова! Я не пишу по-английски, потому что в голове идей много, чувства переполняют. Хотя даже на русском, на родном языке порой бывает трудно до конца описать свои мысли. Но всё таки в этот раз я попытаюсь полностью открыться. Начать хотелось бы с того, что таких бы конкурсов, да и побольше. Надо как можно больше привлекать народу (учеников) в это дело, а то многие даже и не подозревают о существовании такого конкурса. Мне вот например предложила поучаствовать учительница английского языка. Я решила попытать удачу и уже жду с нетерпеньем результатов. Что бы я хотела изучать на английском языке? Да хоть все предметы сразу, включая информатику, физкультуру, изо и др. Но давайте вернёмся к реальности. Как бы ни был высок уровень преподавания английского языка в школах нашего города, я не вижу реальной возможности ввести какие либо предметы на Английском языке в школьную программу. Это и учителей надо найти, и учебного материала нужно много подобрать, да ещё и с мнением большинства родителей познакомится. Давайте на минуту представим, что в школе г. Калининграда ввели такой предмет как Английская математика. Я думаю, что первый год ребята усвоят только новые термины математические на английском языке. Может быть со временем мы и привыкнем, но всё равно мне кажется, что наш город не готов к этому, ведь я подхожу к этому вопросу с практической стороны. Вот что я думаю об этом. И на последок хотелось бы сказать, что я занимаюсь дополнительно английским языком, закрепляю пройденное в школе, повторяю грамматику. Но я бы делала это в 2 раза веселей, если бы у нас в городе были бы клубы английского языка, типа кружков, где каждый бы знакомился с новыми людьми, ведь вместе гораздо интереснее делать какие-либо открытия в области изучения Английского языка. А во главе такого кружка например стоял бы иностранец, чистый Англичанин. Тогда бы и речь у нас была правильней, не было бы проблем с произношением. Спасибо за внимание. Остальными идеями я поделюсь с вами, если вы оцените меня по достоинству.

Hello everybody! I'm very glad to take a part in this competition. I liked the tasks which were given in "English Challenge".They were exciting and very interesting for me.I knew a lot of new information which is useful for us.The best tasks were the Geography Class Challenge and now I know how people call some cities or countries,Literature Class Challenge was interesting because I heared some extract of favourite books in original language and I really want to read them in English.Also I liked the story "Giving apple" by Shel Silberstein.It's unusual and let me think about some things. Everything was good but I didn't like that there were a lot of tasks and sometimes it was getting boring.And I had some problems with sending my answers.So these I didn't like in this competition. I hope in 2012 will be next "English Challenge" with another interesting tasks and I suppose more and more students will take part in this competition.
